They will conduct research and propose a solution to the problem or concern. Through the legislative process, their proposal may influence a change into a law. The students are provided with resources on how a bill becomes a law and are given a template to complete their assignment.
For this assignment, you will need to carefully analyze the problem or concern in your community or organization and propose a thoughtful and evidence-based solution. It is important to conduct thorough research to gather relevant information and data to support your proposal. Consider the potential impact of your proposal on the community and the feasibility of implementing the proposed solution.
Start by identifying the problem or concern. It should be something that has the potential to be addressed through legislation. Understand the current state of the problem, its causes, and its consequences. Then, propose a solution that can effectively address the problem or concern. Your proposal should be based on existing evidence and best practices.
Next, familiarize yourself with the legislative process. Watch the provided media resources on how a bill becomes a law and review the legislative assignment document. When writing your proposal, consider the key components of a bill, such as the title, purpose, and sections. Clearly state the problem or concern, describe the proposed solution, and provide supporting evidence. Address any potential opposition or challenges that may arise during the legislative process and propose strategies to overcome them.
Remember to use solid academic writing skills, ensuring clarity, coherence, and proper citation of sources. While APA format is not required, make sure to present your ideas in a logical and organized manner.
Once you have completed your assignment, make sure to review and revise your work for clarity and coherence. If there are formatting changes or colors in the document, follow the provided instructions to disable the “track changes” feature.
