(CO2) Several versions of social disorganization theory were developed from and tested with data from the city of Chicago. For this discussion you will examine a crime map created for one such study and apply two versions of social disorganization theory to interpret the map. View the presentation, Applying Social Disorganization Theory to Chicago Crime Data. It presents and explains a map of homicide and collective efficacy across Chicago neighborhoods from 1996–1998. Explain how Sampson, Raudenbush, and Earls would interpret this map. Explain how another version of social disorganization theory might interpret the same homicide patterns. List the additional information you would need to test that theory. Are the two theories you discussed complementary or competing? Use examples to explain your reasoning.
